Every year I film at Le Web in order to make the conference promo video. Everything I shoot is with that one video in mind. But every now and then if the footage is just right I can squeeze another video or two out of it. This year with Gary Vaynerchuk and his great stage presence I was able to pull off one of these “extra” videos. The video is a little crazy to watch because I keep the camera rolling for sound bites as I move around, but I tried to clean it up a bit. And it’s ok to show it to the kids, it’s censored.

Yesterday they announced in the media work room that the Colombian President Álvaro Uribe Vélez would be speaking. I had a little extra time on my hands so I thought, what the heck. How did it go? I’ll let you decide.

So it all started when I saw Kofi Annon in the Press Room two days ago, I had taken this photo. I pointed him out to Loic, and we followed him through the halls. Eventually Loic tried to get him on camera, but Kofi was pretty much gone by then – we may have actually caught some of that on camera. The next morning Loic was called to come to the Global Campaign for Climate Justice where Mr. Annan was speaking, where he made contact with his assistant. Loic had helped gain a lot of moment for the Campaign online, so they were happy to give us an interview that evening. After a few hours of prep by Loic, some running between hotels, and a happy welcome by Kofi Annan – we ended up with this interview.

That was yesterday morning, I look tired. Today I feel much better, thanks for asking.

So last night we had the opportunity to interview the Secretary General of the United Nations, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Kofi Annan. It was a great experience that I’ll describe more, but for now I need to edit the interview. For now I’ll link loic’s blog post so you can check out his excitement. I’ve spent most of the day today dealing with the computer not the camera. The morning welcomed me with a phone call from Loic saying we were going to be filming Kofi Annan and the launch of a partnership with EURO RSCG Worldwide an ad agency who is going to help with the global campaign for climate justice through the Global Humanitarian Forum.

Loic filmed a bit of the announcement this morning on seesmic only to end up with a huge response from the seesmic and twitter community. He ended up championing the cause with great applause from leaders of the launch – In end it looks like the response was rapid and robust so we were able to secure a personal interview with Mr. Annan that we will be doing in about an hour from now. I’ll have more to report later (hopefully tonight yet unlikely – I have no internet in my flat).

I’ve been on Etsy for about a year now but it wasn’t until two weeks ago that I first found out who it’s CEO was. Yesterday I was walking through the halls and happen to recognize Robert Kalin. I introduced myself and after a short conversation introduced him to Loic. Robert has been following the launch of Seesmic thus he knew who Loic was. We got a pretty great interview with Robert which I’ll link here.

The Media Room in Davos at the World Economic Forum is crazy. I just overheard someone say “this is the worst place I’ve ever had to work”. Now I’m not sure if that’s true for me, I’m working just fine, but you really do have to know how to tune out the sounds around you. Here’s a short video of the life of the room, this is not the most full I’ve seen it.

By the way – the guy next to me is a writer, I’m not sure for what – but I was surprised to see that he types with two fingers.

I don’t have much to say other than I was in the right place at the right time. I mannaged to sneak a few seconds without sound of Kofi Annan. Loic tried to get an interview with him using his flip cam but I think Kofi thought the camera was to small. I’m sure that video will be online sometime.
