I’m always so surprised when a big company is not on Twitter. For some reason, it actually makes me a little upset, I’m not sure why, it just does so get off my back about it. Maybe it’s because I think their marketing team is way behind on the times, and they should hire someone who knows what they’re doing. Or maybe it’s because I want to be told when there is a change in the menu at Buca di Beppo. Specifically I want to be reminded of how good their mashed potatoes are on a daily basis.

I take my hat off to the one Buca that has opened a Twitter account, Buca Broomfield. The team over at Broomfield CO knows what’s up. I mean their Twitter campaign is genius—I’ll give you two examples.

Tweeted by Buca Broomfield on January 5th 2009:
“Big day today! Cloudy with a chance of meatballs has been released on DVD, and to celebrate, come try our fabulous meatball pizza!”
January 12th 2009:
“New coupons came in today, so keep your eyes open for them in the local newspapers, flyers, etc. THEY’RE EVERYWHERE!”.

Buca headquarters, I recommend you find out who’s running the show over there in Broomfield and snag them up before Pei Wei gets their hands on them (Pei Wei already has 2,778 followers!).

Thanks for reading the first of many corporate rants.
