My first coaching experience.

February 20th, 2009 · 1 Comment

I have a life off outside of the internet that takes me to interesting places, doing interesting things. Most recently I went to Las Vegas to coach my sisters ultimate Frisbee team. I hadn’t done much coaching before and hadn’t really considered it to be something I thought I would really enjoy (because I really enjoy playing). It turns out it’s not only a ton of fun, it’s also super rewarding, both for me and the ladies I was there helping.

It was a 3 day tournament, it was rainy, and it was in Vegas – I note this because of how bad those 3 things are combined for a tournament, but how good they are for seeing how good a player is and how good a team is. Imagine trying to throw a disc, now imagine doing that in the rain, for 3 days, after a very long evening in Las Vegas – You see my point.

I brought my camera along and snapped some photos, you can see all of the photos here, or you can watch this montage of photos in the video that I made below.

I hope you know I’ve been watching your feed because, yeah, I love the internet, too. I can’t believe you made me wait for almost two weeks for this post! I also can’t believe I heard that song in New York… must’ve been fate.
