I spent much of Friday working out the details of my new purchase – a Nikon D90. I’ve been a photo enthusiast for years, but never owned my own SLR (single lens reflex). Well… that’s not totally true. The truth is, I have owned a Minolta SRT 202 for several years; it was passed down to me from my grandfather through my parents. I would have loved to learn on this camera but film was just too expensive for me, and why would I learn on a film camera when I believe so deeply in digital?
This post about photography and cameras could go on much longer, but I should just get to the good stuff. Claire and I have just arrived in Paris! I bought my new Nikon just in time for the trip and am so excited to get going with it.
Right now we’re staying at our friend Alice’s place in Paris, and her small home offers a heap of amazing close up shots of her collections. As soon as I’m able, I’ll post those. I thought I would just spend this time to make everyone aware that we have arrived in Paris and we should be updating daily. Keep your eye on the blog, and we’ll see you back here again soon.

I just got a D90 myself. Still learning how to take the lens cap off, but It’s a hell of a camera.
Have fun in Paris!
